Chi’s goals in their 2-0 victory over Keynsham were scored by Jenna Fowlie and Tammy Waine.

Chichester had already beaten Keynsham twice this season, once in the league and once in the FA Cup, and City knew any slip from Swindon would allow them a shot at the title in their final game.

Shannon Albuery, up front for Chichester, was a menace and created several chances.

Balls were being played into the Keynsham area but Chichester could not get an effort on target.

A succession of corners led to chances for Emma Alexandre but she couldn’t get her headed efforts on target. Keynsham moved the ball forward quickly but Chichester were resolute in their defending.

After 46 seconds of the second half, Chichester went one up. After a good ball from Lauren Cheshire to Albuery down the right the ball was played across the box for a simple tap-in for Fowlie from six yards.

Further chances for Fowlie, both from headers, were wide. Albuery worked herself some space on the edge of the area only to see her shot tamely roll to the keeper.

But Chichester added a second as sub Waine latched on to a pass from Fowlie that cut through the Keynsham back-line and with only the keeper to beat she lifted the ball over her and into the net.

Keynsham had their best chance as a ball flashed across the box just eluding their left midfielder at the back post.

With Swindon taking all three points against Shanklin and with it the title, Chichester have ended the season second.
