Lancing told by boss: You can be proud of FA Vase run
The Lancers lost 4-2 on spot-kicks after their last-32 tie against Hellenic League Flackwell Heath in the Culver Road sunshine on Saturday ended in a 1-1 draw.
Mo Juwara put the Lancers on level terms after they went behind but despite plenty of pressure, the SCFL premier division side couldn’t force a winner.

Hide AdLancing had come through three rounds of the Vase before lockdown – during which they were unable to train – held up the latter stages.
Louis, who manages the team alongside James Rhodes, said: “I feel like we did ourselves proud reaching this stage with some tough games to get here.
“Performance-wise we were happy, we feel that we could and should have taken the game to Flackwell on Saturday.
“We had control of the game and large amounts of possession, but in the end it came down to the penalties and their goalkeeper made some good saves which sent them through.

Hide Ad“We are very proud of how far we’ve come and everyone’s attitudes.
“It’s been a dysfunctional season to say the least but I feel like we prepared and did everything we could properly.
“Although we are out of the Vase now, we have our heads high and look forward to the remaining games.
“We want to get as far as we can in the SCFL cup and for next season we hope we can keep the squad together and build on this year and progress.”
