Tom Boddy struck in the nick of time to consign Rye to an agonising 2-1 loss at Crowborough Athletic in a Sussex County Football League Division One fixture originally scheduled for Boxing Day.

Rye went behind to a Michael Death goal in the 38th minute following a mistake by goalkeeper Greg Nessling. It remained 1-0 to Crowborough until Andy Hales equalised with his second goal of the season in the 89th minute.
