Lewes Football Club will hope to find a return to winning ways this weekend after seeing their unbeaten run end in convincing fashion over the New Year.
The Rooks lost to top-of-the table Margate on New Year’s Day before being taken down by the same 3-0 scoreline at Leiston five days later - a side who themselves hadn’t won in six matches before hosting Lewes.
The double-whammy of defeats have left Lewes precariously close to the Ryman Premier Division drop zone ahead of the visit of Hampton and Richmond Borough.
The Beavers are just one place and two points above Lewes in the league standings and, like Leiston, haven’t won in six matches before facing Garry Wilson and Danny Bloor’s men.
Assistant boss Bloor said, “We did not get off to the best of starts this season and find ourselves near the bottom for that reason.”
Lewes are just two points above the relegation zone ahead of the weekend’s clash at the Dripping Pan and will need to come away with at least a point if they are to keep in touch with the cluster of teams above them in the league.
The match kicks off at 3pm at the Dripping Pan.
