STEVE Robinson, the Lewes FC skipper has pledged his commitment to the club by signing a new deal.
The centre back has re-signed for the 2012/13 season on a one-year deal and the news has been welcomed by everyone at the club after the player excelled for Rooks last season.
The club captain scooped both the Supporter’s Player of the Year and Managers Player of the Year as well as being named in the Ryman Premier Select XI as the best centre back in the league.
Rooks manager Simon Wormull was delighted with the news having been in discussions with the player for a month. “This is one of the main signings that I wanted to make for next season.
“Robbo has signalled his commitment to the club, even though he had several other offers on the table, and for us it is marvellous news. Every team needs its talisman and we now have ours again for next season,” Wormull told the club’s website.
Wormull is expected to announce ‘a couple more’ signings shortly ahead of the start of pre-season training on June 30.
