Little Common and Westfield will go head-to-head in round two of the Macron Store Sussex County Football League’s Peter Bentley Challenge Cup. Kick-off is 7.15pm.

It will be the second time the teams have met at Little Common Recreation Ground already this season following a 1-1 draw in Division Two just 15 days ago.

On that occasion Sam Willett gave Westfield a half time lead only for Martin Denny to level after the break. Common then had a glorious chance to win it, but Lewis Hole’s penalty was saved by Carl Morris.

Westfield are eighth in the league with five points from four matches. The Westies are unbeaten in their last four games in all competitions and have won their last two, including a splendid 2-1 win away to Division One high-flyers Eastbourne United AFC in the Sussex RUR Charity Cup on Saturday.

Common are four places and one point worse off in the league, but did pick up their first league victory of the season at the weekend when they twice came from behind to see off previously undefeated Steyning Town 3-2.

While Westfield had a bye in round one of the competition, Common edged out crosstown rivals 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller. The winners tonight will be at home to Hailsham Town or St Francis Rangers in the last 16.
