The defeat was Golds’ fourth in six league matches this season and player-manager George Gaskin said: “I was pleased with the performance, despite the defeat.

“The luck just does not seem to be going for us at the minute. We had a good chance to make it 2-1 but missed it.

“In the second half, we began to tire a little and they made the most of that.

“We are on a poor run but if we perform like this in future matches I’m sure we will begin to pick up points.”

Ryan Bell gave Golds the lead nine minutes before half-time when he beat the offside trap and fired home.

Dave Brown drew YM level 90 seconds before half-time, and the hosts took the lead through Sam Schaaf on 62 minutes.

Nick Sullivan then sealed the win 11 minutes from time.
