Macdonald's lovin' it as his double lifts Whyke

Whyke opened the scoring after ten minutes with a goal from Matthew MacDonald, but that was followed by two goals from Barnham.

Whyke’s Sam Parkin promptly retaliated with a goal to level the score.

Barnham kept possession towards the end of the first half and scored again to make it 3-2.

Going into the second half, Whyke upped their tempo and although Barnham pressed, Whyke’s defence remained determined not to concede any more and keeper Andrew Corrall-Seacombe made some fantastic saves.

With ten minutes left, Whyke created more opportunities and Ben Riding scored, followed two minutes later by another goal from MacDonald to make the final score 4-3.

Credit goes to both teams for a great game and MacDonald was the well-deserved recipient of Whyke’s man-of-the-match award.

Chichester City Colts 2 Predators Youth 2

Predators had the best of the first half and took the lead with a fine goal from Brandon Williams, who outpaced the defence and placed the ball in the bottom corner.

Chichester equalised early in the second half as the Predators defence failed to deal with a bouncing ball, allowing a forward to run on and score.

Chichester gained the advantage as a defensive misunderstanding allowed a soft back pass to trickle in.

With full-time approaching Predators equalised with another solo effort from Williams.

A missed penalty by Chichester meant it was a draw - a fair result from a scrappy game.

A very even first half brought few chances. Barnham had a few shots from outside the area collected well by Christy Carter in the City goal and Zac Moy had two chances for City that went wide.

City broke the deadlock early in the second half. A ball was cleared to the edge of the box for James Amos to loop a perfectly-weighted shot in the top corner.

City’s second came from a neat through-ball to Moy, who stabbed it past the keeper. Moy got a second when he turned and shot inside the box.

Man of the match was Alfie Shaw, who pressurised the Barnham midfield to keep possession.

Predators Yth 2 Worthing Rebels A 6

Predators slipped out of the Challenge Cup on a miserable wet morning.

Worthing Rebels play in the division above Predators so the lads knew they were in for a hard match.

Josling was soon one on one with the Worthing keeper and he slipped the ball round him, finding the back of the net.

Worthing drew level and then scored again right on the half-time whistle.

The second half saw Worthing score within minutes of restart. Predators battled hard and a corner from Farndell found the head of Irish, who made the score 3-2.

Worthing showed their A league credentials by playing some great football and scoring again. Josling was unlucky when a free-kick hit the crossbar. Predators keeper Williams pulled off some great saves but Worthing scored twice more.

Predators did not give up for the whole 80 minutes. Man of the match was Irish.

Worthing Rebels Youth Red 2 Midhurst & Easebourne 4

Midhurst travelled with just 11 players, which meant some players having to play out of position.

Jordan Warren put them ahead and following a free-kick they went 2-0 up through an own goal.

Liam Field-Millard scored for Midhurst just when Worthing were starting to dominate in midfield.

Worthing were awarded a penalty which they conceded and the hosts scored a second.

Five minutes before time Jake Burtoo scored a fourth for Midhurst to finish the game.

UNDER-16

Pagham Colts 6 Felpham Colts 3

Pagham took the lead after ten minutes with a fine Dan Watson header from a Sam Clarke cross.

They continued to pressurise the visitors’ defence with Clarke and Haines working well on one flank and Charles and VanDriel on the other.

Midway through the half, the home side doubled their lead.

A well-struck shot from Jack Parham was parried by the keeper and Watson was quick to react.

Felpham came into the game and were rewarded just before half-time with a well-taken goal.

Pagham increased their lead when Clarke put in a good free-kick and VanDriel rose well to head in.

Soon after, sub Dan Gonzalez’s surging run ended with a shot that found the bottom corner.

Felpham scored a second before Gonzalez netted his second and Pagham’s fifth following good work from Ollie Marland.

There was time for VanDriel to make it six with a fierce low shot. Felpham converted a late penalty.

Bourne Sports Red 3 Pagham Youth 2

An exciting Challenge Cup quarter-final was served up when Pagham faced their arch rivals Bourne Sports.

Both teams found it difficult to settle in the first half on a weather-affected pitch.

The highlights inlcuded a Pagham shot from Jack Barnes that came back off the bar and Bourne’s Joseph Matthews fizzing a shot across the goal.

Bourne went in 1-0 up before half-time after Harry Perry slotted in from a few yards following a fumble by the Pagham keeper.

The second half was livelier for Pagham but Bourne increased their lead with a right-foot shot from Matthews that went in off the post.

Pagham scored through Barnes but Bourne responded almost immediately with another from Perry – that after a mazy dribble and shot that evaded the dive of the Pagham keeper.

Pagham hit the bar through Luke Vincent and Joe Hurford pulled one back towards the end with a back-post header.

However, Bourne held on to secure their 3-2 win and a semi-final meeting with Chichester City Youth.
