Highdown Saints 0 Bosham 9

Bosham bounced back from a defeat to Pagham with a convincing win over Highdown Saints.

Highdown were reduced to ten men before the game through a player being ill but it didn’t deter them as they put in a battling performance to go in at half-time only 1-0 down.

Bosham creating a couple of chances early on but shots from Charlie Hawes and Luke Ayling went wide.

Bosham’s slender lead at the break was down to a low shot from George Egerton.

The second half brought a more positive approach from Bosham, who dominated the half and created chance after chance.

Bosham skipper Phil Merrick was moved into midfield and instantly made an impact.

The second half saw Bosham score eight goals. Merrick scored four, including a great strike from 18 yards, while other goals came from Tyler Todd, Hawes, Ayling and Billy Francis.

Walberton Wasps have a new sponsor – Steve Langley, proprietor of Four Seasons Countryside Services.

The Wasps are playing on at under-18 level next season. They have been together since 2003 – with many of the original players and coaches still involved, a great achievement for a village side.

UNDER-15

Felpham Colts 0 Pagham Youth 8

Pagham proved too strong for Felpham and dominated for long periods, but Felpham never gave up.

Pagham went in front halfway through the first half with a stunning strike from Davi Guimaraes. Joe Hurford got himself on the scoresheet to make it 2-0 and Guimaraes made it 3-0 before the break.

After the break, Guimaraes completed his hat-trick before Charlie McLinden made it 5-0. Karl Matthews netted the sixth then got the seventh from the spot before Guimaraes wrapped it up with his fourth.

Credit must go to both sides for good sportsmanship.

Regis 2000 2 Chichester City United 1

Regis were rewarded for a bright start when Ryan Barratt headed home a Johan VanDriel corner.

Barratt and Dan Gonzalez both went close, also from corners.

Chichester were having their fair share of the ball without really threatening a goal.

With half an hour gone, Regis doubled their lead with a fine finish from Michael Charman. Then right on half-time, a Chichester player headed in a corner.

The second half was fairly even, although Regis had the best two chances - Jordan Charles and Michael Charman both being denied by good goalkeeping.

Midhurst & Easebourne 8 Regis 2000 2

There was nothing to separate these two teams for the first 22 minutes – then Jake Burtoo changed everything.

He scored three fantastic goals within five minutes to see the home team finish the first half 3-0 up.

After the interval Midhurst dominated, Liam Field-Millard working hard in midfield with Jordan Warren.

Burtoo scored the home team’s fourth and fifth goals following fine passes from Jack Mepham and Elliott Taylor.

Mepham added his name to the scoresheet and scored goals six and seven for Midhurst, the seventh a great shot.

Midhurst’s defence lost concentration and allowed Regis to score.

Man of the match Burtoo returned to score his sixth goal before Regis had a last-minute run at goal and scored their second.

Selsey Seals 6 Worthing Town A 4

Selsey booked their place in the Invitation Cup final with a well-deserved win against higher-league opposition. Worthing took the lead through confusion in the defence before Selsey stepped it up to level before half-time though Almedia.

In the second half, Selsey stormed into a 4-1 lead with another three goals from Almedia.

Worthing threw caution to the wind and started a fightback.

Although Selsey hit the bar and post, they were unable to kill the game off and three goals from Worthing levelled the score to force extra-time.

Selsey composed themselves again and another goal from Almedia and a strike from captain Brooks finally finished off Worthing.

Predators Youth 1 Barnham Trojans 0

Predators celebrated a win over Barnham in their new kit sponsored by local business Coversure Insurance Services.

Predators took the lead with a goal from Alfie Prior and maintained their advantage with strong performances from the whole team.

Captain Matthew Brennan led by example and earned the man-of-the-match award.

UNDER-11

Predators 7 Barnham Trojans 1

Predators got back on track after a slow start.

Jack Blackman slotted the ball past the oncoming Barnham keeper, then did the same again five minutes later.

The best goal came when Blackman took the ball around the keeper and completing his hat-trick to make it 3-0 at half-time.

In the second half Barnham came out attacking at every opportunity but also leaving themselves exposed.

A fourth came from Jude Blackman and Jacob Howe added another, but Barnham hit back with a goal on the break then missed a penalty.

But Predators came back with goals from Searl & Isaac Howe.

Man of the match was Jack Blackman.

UNDER-EIGHT

Barnham played AFC Worthing in their final game of the season and won 4-0, playing some great attacking, passing football.
