Lancing United Youth 4 Chi Colts 3

This match seemed to be scrappy from the start. Lancing took the lead with a lob over the keeper and soon made it two.

Chichester seemed to battle back quite strongly and from a set-piece, Chi got one back through an own goal.

Lancing scored a third, then Chi came back with a nice goal by Joe Middleton. Countless attacks by Lancing were fended off by some great defending by Louis Godfrey.

In the second half, Middleton scored by rounding the keeper with a goal from a very narrow angle to make it 3-3. Again Chi’s tails were up but they were dashed by a lob from Lancing to make the final score 4-3.

Worthing Town Yellow 3 Avisford Youth 2

Avisford were left frustrated as a controversial late winner denied them a deserved share of the spoils at Palatine Park.

Worthing took the lead with a quick break after nine minutes, Adam Brows bursting through to fire past Jake Longley.

Five minutes later Worthing extended their lead when George Argent took advantage of hesistant defending. But Avisford began to take control and Luke Salter tested Worthing keeper Aaron Spiers with a couple of long shots.

Ten minutes before half-time, captain Fin Brian shimmied his way to the edge of the area and unleashed an unstoppable drive into the roof of the Worthing net.

Matt Kill, Sammy Copeland and Charlie Hunter came on and Longley kept Avisford in the game.

The equalieer seemed inevitable and Copeland’s strike cannoned off the post and the rebound fell kindly to Kill, who smashed home.

The black and whites could have won it had it not been for a sensational stop by Spiers from a Kill effort, but in the last minute came the decision that snatched the game away from Avisford.

A 50-50 challenge from Copeland went against the winger, and from the free kick Krzysztof Krzyzaniak found the top corner.

MoM was Hunter.

AVISFORD: Longley, Nowak, Hall, Greene, Wasowski, Dignum, Jones, Brian, Salter. Subs: Copeland, Hunter.

On a very wet and blustery morning, both teams attacked the ball very well and played with a high level of commitment.

Colts hit the woodwork first through Rock Rochester, the defender hitting a first-time effort that crashed against the bar before being cleared.

Colts drew first blood when the Chi Youth goalie let the ball slip from his grasp enabling Taylor Parker to score following a through-ball from James Nicol.

Parker crashed an effort against the bar and Liam Craddock had a shot that flew inches wide.

Chi Youth found success when the goalie punted the ball upfield to one of their forwards, who hit a long-range arching ball in for the equaliser against the run of play.

Colts had many chances but 25 minutes into the second half, Chi Youth were awarded a free kick 25 yards out. It was well taken and curled into the top corner.

Evans, Nicol, Rochester, Simmons and Jones all had a go but were unable to equalise with the Chi Youth keeper in excellent form.

MoM was shared between Charlie Simmons and Rochester.

COLTS: S Williams, H Newton, J Jones, T Rochester, C Simmons, J Nicol, W Parker, S Jones, J Angell, T Evans, T Parker, D Hamblin, T Watkins, L Craddock.

Allstars continued their fine form on a muddy pitch against an Angmering side who never gave up.

Great defending and poor finishing prevented Allstars opening the scoring until the just before half-time when Callum Slater beat the offside trap to fire in the first of his six goals.

The second half saw the introduction of Charlie Osborne and Allstars increased their lead when an Osborne pass sent Slater away to fire his second. He got his third when he followed in a shot that the keeper spilled.

Another fine move saw Osborne send a inch-perfect ball to Liam Morley, who showed great composure to slot in.

New signing Elliot Reed showed his ability with great football in the centre and it wasn’t long before Slater got his fourth.

Slater got two more in the last ten minutes.

Worthing United Colts 0 Predators Youth 5

Predators cruised into the next round of the cup with a comfortable win over lower-league opposition.

The Predators defence, with Matt Morris in commanding form, snuffed out Worthing leaving stand-in keeper Scott Bingham largely a spectator, although he did make one good save.

Alex Burford provided a through ball for Brandon Williams to open the scoring, then Sean Donner made space for himself to finish.
