The hotly anticipated game will take place at The Polegrove on Thursday April 11 with a 6pm kick-off. A £40 individual space at a table - or £400 for a table of 10 - includes sitting with one of the pros or celebrities who play in the game, a sit-down three-course meal, auction and match ticket.

Tickets can still be purchased from H&H Confectionery in Sackville Road, as well as No 48 Cafe in Devonshire Road. Standard tickets for the game are priced at £5 per adult and £2 for under-16s, with United hoping to attract a strong crowd full of local families.

The Pirates’ team on the day is set to be captained by former Liverpool and West Ham United defender Neil Ruddock. Former pros Perry Groves, Nigel Winterburn, Kerry Dixon, Mark Wright, Clayton Blackmore, Neil Webb, David Hillier, Steve Claridge, David Howells, Ian Allinson and Martin Hayes are all thought to be part of the Lashings squad. TV star Ralf Little and chef Ainsley Harriott are also expected to be present.

United committee member Pauline Killy was an invited guest of Lashings at their fixture against a Maidstone United Legends XI on Sunday. She went along with husband Mark Killy, Bexhill’s vice-chairman, on a fact finding mission to see first hand the entertainment provided by a Lashings event, especially the opportunity for fans to meet the ex-pros and celebrities.

The Lashings team - managed by former Everton and West Ham striker Tony Cottee - went down 7-3 despite leading 3-0 at the break thanks to strikes from Blackmore, Dixon and an own goal.

Following the match, the players and celebs posed for photos and signed autographs for the watching support before Little and his team-mates signed a football which will be available as a raffle prize when they visit the south coast in the second week of next month.

For any other information about Lashings’ upcoming visit to Bexhill, email [email protected] or call Aston on 07791 368049. Match tickets will be available on the day.
