Members of local sporting community pay tributes to Tony Millard

The speedway commentator, cricket umpire and administrator was aged 74.

He was most famous for being the ‘Voice of the Albion’ and for his involvement with the Sussex Cricket League.

Three Bridges cricket captain Danny Alderman said: “Tony was a co-founder of the league back in the 70’s and was instrumental in making Sussex Cricket what it is today.

“I didn’t play against him but I understand he was a reasonable cricketer in his day, and over the last 15 years has been one of the best umpires in the league. It is a sad day for Cricket in the county and he will be very sorely missed.”
