JED WALLACE set Pompey's attacking quartet a 50-goal League Two target and insisted: Our ability is frightening.

The Blues visit Burton Albion today as the division’s joint-second highest scorers on their travels.

And 19-year-old Wallace has backed Guy Whittingham’s side to continue their goal-laden start to the season as they go in search of a first away-day victory.

He reckons Andy Barcham and Ricky Holmes can both deliver a double-figure return – alongside David Connolly and Patrick Agyemang – as the Blues bid to climb the table.

Wallace said: ‘This season is a long season.

‘But I fancy Barch to get 10 goals, Holmesy to get 10, Connors probably 20, and Pat 10.

‘I want to chip in with goals and assists as well but we have got goals everywhere.

‘Cradds (Tom Craddock) is going to score goals for us.

‘He is going to be another one coming in – and obviously Birdy (Ryan Bird) is hungry to succeed.

‘As a team, our attacking ability is frightening.

‘I think if you look at it, last year Ash (Harris) was probably our best option off the bench. Now he is struggling to even get in the 18.

‘That shows the strength in depth we have got this season.

‘As for Sonny Bradley, how he hasn’t scored I don’t know.

‘I’ve said to him – “you’re killing me!”

‘He missed a great chance at Torquay and had about four free headers at Accrington.

‘After the game, everyone was saying: “Jed can’t cross or take a corner.”

‘I watched it back on the TV and Sonny missed about four headers in the first half.

‘I could have been the best set-piece taker in the world if he scored all of his headers.

‘We’ve got pace to burn this year as well – especially out wide.’

For Wallace, it has been a season of frustration so far.

But the talented Pompey youngster, whose side have let slip five leads in six league matches this season, believes it is simply a matter of time before the Blues put a team to the sword.

Although, he would swap their free-scoring exploits for an ugly victory.

‘I’m hoping at some point some team is going to get a pummeling soon. I think they will,’ said Wallace.

‘Everyone in the changing room is fed up of playing well and coming away from games with a bitter taste in their mouth.

‘I’d like to play awful and win 1-0, to be honest.

‘Every game we go into thinking we are going to score goals.

‘We know we’ve got goals in the team.

‘The last three away games we’ve scored twice and that’s without Connolly, who is obviously our main goal threat.

‘He’s coming back into the team – and I’m sure the manager and Wiggy (assistant boss Steve Allen) are pretty happy with the options they’ve got and what they’ve brought in.’
