Craig, who signed for John Yem's side in the summer, believes the lack of competitive football showed in the Reds' performance.

He said: "It took us a while to find our feet.

"In the first half we did ok but in the second half, to give them Millwall due, they showed their quality. We haven't played a competitive game since mid-Marc and I think that showed.

"There were some good things and some things we have to learn from."

And Craig praised Ashford for his debut goal for Crawley Town. He said: "Sam did well and took his goal very well, which is pleasing for him on his debut. He's come in from non league and settled very well. There are few boys still finding their feet.

"We've only been back a month after four or five months off, and that's a long time. It was a good competitive game bt we don't like losing. The league is our priority this season and we have to move on."
