Following last night’s annual general meeting, clubs have decided for a change in the titles of the divisions. The change will see Division 1 become known as the Premier Division, Division 2 will be Division 1 and Division 3 as Division 2.
Horsham YMCA put the proposal forward at the meeting and 33 clubs voted in favour, while 22 decided against the name change.

Hide AdSCFL chairman Steve Nealgrove said: “The name change was something that Horsham YMCA put forward to us before the meeting.
“YM then gave their reasoning for the name change and we allowed clubs to vote. In the end, they managed to get 33 clubs to vote in favour, so the league names will now be changed.
“It is something that other leagues have done in previous years and now we will be following suit.”
In another change, there will also be two under-21 divisions next season - East and West.

“Full credit must go to those clubs who have decided to put teams in the new under-21 set-up.
“It’s going to be a great first season for the teams involved and really good for the Southern Combination Football League to have a couple of under-21 divisions for players to play in.”
The new season gets underway for sides in the Premier Division and Division 1 on August 8, while Division 2 starts two weeks later.
