New faces as Rebels bounce back at Bay

Rebels manager Lee Brace thought he was the victim of a joke after coming out the changing room to be told his side were 1-0 down, but it was Rebels that would have the last laugh in a 4-1 victory.

A Scott Kirkwood brace and goals from Jamie Brotherton and Chris O’Flaherty saw Rebels hit back to beat fifth-placed Bay.

Brace added five new signings to the squad ahead of the match – Worthing’s first in 10 days – as former Albion youngsters Josh James and Jamie Strong put pen to paper along with Kieran Pamment, Tom Stillwell and Josh Bryant.

Brace said: “We went behind after 30 second and I missed it as I was still locking up the changing room, but we came back, equalised and then never looked back – I was very pleased with the performance and the lads.

“We had Jack Williamson, Josh Bryant on his debut and Nat Hubert at the back, all teenagers and they were all fantastic along with O’Flaherty covering in at left-back.

“Everyone was brilliant and all of the players enjoyed the game. Their managers, players and supporters came up to us at the end and said we were the best footballing side they have played all year, which is nice to hear.”
