NEWHAVEN climbed to the summit of Division Three after an enthralling 4-2 win against a dogged TD Shipley on Tuesday night.
Three consecutive league wins sees Newhaven top the league for the first time since early January. the Dockers started the game well and took an early lead when Daniel Murray fired in from a corner. Tyler Goatcher got behind the Shipley defence to notch a second for the hosts and give them a 2-0 half-time lead Shipley levelled in the second half with a five-minute double salvo.
First, Gary Pritchard fired in from close range and then Dan Burton headed in from a corner.
Newhaven kept pushing forward and got their rewards with a fine left footed strike from Ryan Knight and then a shot on the turn from Goatcher. Murray also missed a penalty with the scores at 2-2.
