The Seagulls face Southampton at the Amex on Saturday and then travel to Chelsea on Wednesday before meeting Manchester City in the FA Cup at Wembley a week on Saturday.

Excitement is building among Albion fans about the semi-final clash and Hughton admitted that even he can't fully avoid the tie.

Asked if he has banned talk about the match with Pep Guardiola's quadruple-hunting team, Hughton said: "I can't govern what they talk about in the changing rooms.

"There are some things, even myself, that we have to talk about regarding the semi-final because arrangements have to be made, things like tickets and so.

"But as regards the work we do and the meetings we do, there hasn't been any talk of the semi-final.

"We've had some seven players away on international duty so it was a mixed week anyway.

"All of our talk and all of our work was on one Premier League game and then after that one it's the Chelsea one."
