Rocks bosses Jack Pearce and Robbie Blake moved to snap up the experienced Puemo to add some steel to the ranks in the absence of injured Joe Cook.

It follows the capture of AFC Bournemouth’s young midfielder Tom Dinsmore yesterday ahead of the league game against Bishop’s Stortford at Nyewood Lane tomorrow - which is subject to Storm Dennis not arriving and causing problems with the pitch or a risk to general safety at the ground.

Then Bognor host Brighton U23s in a Sussex Senior Cup quarter-final tie on Wednesday, Februrary 19.

Manager Pearce said of his Puemo’s arrival: "Jerry joins us at a time when competition for places is everything as we try to force our way into the play-off picture. He is an established player at this level and we very much look forward to working with him."

Puemo moved to Kingstonian in the summer of 2019 from Farnborough. He began his career in the youth ranks of West Bromwich Albion and Scunthorpe United before he completed a two-year scholarship with Aldershot Town – and then played for Morecambe U23s for two seasons.

At the beginning of last season, he moved from Morecambe to Farnborough and was a regular in their defence before making the switch to the Ks.
