Peacehaven bounce back from FA Vase loss to hammer YMCA

Horsham YMCA 5-0 with four goals inside 20 minutes including an Ashley Rees hat-trick.

The Tye bounced back from their FA Vase defeat at Bath in style with the game wrapped up inside 20 minutes.

Two minutes into the game a ball on the right short to Kevin Keehan allowed him to send a ball through the defence. Rees then ran the ball into the area to chip the ball over the out rushing keeper.

After five minutes a clearance by YM was controlled by Adam Kneller who put a high ball straight back up to Rees. Unmarked, he then lobbed Horsham’s keeper from the left side of the box. The YM keeper’s day was made worse when Peacehaven were again able to put a high ball into Rees who lobbed the keeper again from just outside the box.

A couple of minutes later a good run up the left side from Joe Dryer to the corner flag allowed him to cross across the face of goal. The ball went just behind Rob O’Toole but Aaron Gunn was there to fire it home.

A sliding tackle from behind led to O’Toole having to leave the field and saw a return for Tom Levitt.

The game then continued along the same lines, with Peacehaven continuing to press and YMCA hoping for the half time whistle.

The second half started more positively for Horsham who had changed their formation to a more defensive style and brought on their recent signing from Sutton.

He was able to give Horsham a little time by holding up play for YM to get forward when they could. But they weren’t able to carve out any clear-cut chances and Peace-
