Wick, while down to ten men, equalised a minute from time in the County League Division 2 match but there was still time left for Pedrick to make one more excellent stop, when he pushed the ball against a post.

Both sides are challenging for promotion at the top of the table and it was Oakwood who took the lead after nine minutes.

Gez Manville met a cross from the right to score, before Pedrick made a superb save from a corner and Jake Ebling cleared a shot off the line.

The hosts levelled on the stroke of half-time when Kerry Hardwell fired home an excellent strike from 20 yards for his ninth goal of the season.

It took Oakwood just two minutes of the second half to go back ahead as Tom Lyons fired home a low shot from the edge of the penalty area.

Pedrick made a fine save when a Oakwood player got through one-on-one and the visitors missed another great chance to extend their lead, when Pedrick was rounded but the ball was shot off target.

Wick were reduced to ten men with five minutes to go when, having used all their substitutes, Matt Noble was forced off through injury.

However, with a minute to go, Nathan Parke delivered a lovely cross and Ben Anderton headed home.

Pedrick was still forced to make one more save as Wick boss Jon Tucker was pleased with a point.

He said: “We rode our luck at times, so it was pleasing to get a point.

“We hadn’t played for a couple of weeks, so were a little bit rusty and Mark made some great saves. He played a couple of games in goal at the start of the season and he was fantastic again on Saturday.”
