Pitch inspection for Rye game

Rye United’s match at Selsey today (Saturday) is subject to a 10.30am pitch inspection.

The pitch was rolled yesterday and is flat. There was a frost overnight, but the sun is now out and Selsey are hoping they have a chance of getting the Sussex County Football League Division One fixture on.

Seven of the other eight games in Division One were postponed yesterday due to snow and ice, including Sidley United’s scheduled visit from Chichester City.

It’s a similar story in Division Two. Bexhill United’s clash at home to Steyning Town and Westfield’s trip to Midhurst & Easebourne were postponed yesterday. Little Common’s trip to Storrington has been called-off today.

Also off is the Reserve Section (East) derby between Westfield and Bexhill, as well as the Reserve Section (Premier) encounter involving Rye and Mile Oak.

As previously mentioned on this website, Hastings United’s Ryman League Premier Division relegation battle at home to Tooting & Mitcham United was postponed yesterday.

News of the Selsey versus Rye pitch inspection will follow.
