A Charlie Pitcher brace either side of half-time and second-half goals from Michael Wood and a Mark Cave penalty spot, gave the Magpies a comfortable win.

Loxwood boss Mark Beard said: “We scored fairly early and then relaxed once we did and made a few mistakes and were not really playing.

“A half-time we changed the formation and scored 30 seconds into the restart for 2-0 and at the end of the day, it could have been double figures.

“No disrespect to Hailsham as they kept going and never gave up. It was another good game, we were just a bit more clinical.

“Charlie Pitcher netted another two and is looking sharp, the defenders will be pleased with the clean sheet and Sam Smith, although he did not have much to do, he did what we had to.”

Pitcher opened the scoring on 20 minutes as he took control of a Sam Beard pass, beat two players and found the bottom corner from the edge of the box.

The Magpies switched from two up front to three in midfield at the break and it immediately paid off as Pitcher gambled and got a toe on the end of a Josh Courtney shot to divert home his second.

Wood profited from a short-corner routine just after the hour mark as he found the bottom corner, and, with eight minutes left, Cave converted from the penalty spot after substitute Cecil Gee was brought down.
