Plans to install new dugouts at Roffey Football Club approved

The application, which also included the installation of stop netting behind the goals on both pitches, was given the thumbs-up by the planning committee on Tuesday (January 7).
Roffey, whose ground is in Bartholomew Way, currently sit third in the Southern Combination League Premier Division.

The netting behind the goals will be four metres high and five metres wide, supported by three metal poles.
The committee was told that the netting would stop balls from hitting the trees, preventing damage to the trees and harm to wildlife.
Tony Bevis (Lib Dem, Roffey North) said: “I think it’s great to see a club improving the facilities it has, looking after the facilities it’s had for some time. I think the additional netting is going to make the use of the grounds better.”
