The deal for the 29-year-old goalkeeper – who moved to the League 2 side at the beginning of February on an initial 28-day loan – includes a 24-hour recall clause.

Jones kept a clean sheet on his debut for the Reds at Stevenage and has made four appearances this month.

Manager Mark Yates said: “Paul’s been great since he came back and it’s an arrangement I’m delighted Portsmouth have agreed to continue for another month.”

This is Jones’ second spell at the club having made 105 league and cup appearances for Reds when they were in League One.

He then joined Portsmouth in 2014 and has made 45 appearances for the Fratton Park club.
