Ian Pulman put the Rams ahead just before half-time and second half goals from James Sherman (two) and Jon Equilor handed the Kent side a comfortable three points to keep them in the hunt for the play-offs.

It was Horsham’s first game for 11 days following two postponements and the defeat means Simon Colbran’s side are still without a win this year and have now gone 13 games without a league victory.

The wretched run has seen the side dragged into the fight to avoid the sole relegation spot, with Bridges showing real form since beating Horsham at the end of February.

Bridges’ in-form man Abu Touray scored both goals in a 2-0 win at the Terrors to make it seven points from nine.

The Hornets remain third from bottom, two points ahead of second bottom Walton Casuals with a game in hand and a further point ahead of Bridges with three games in hand.

On Tuesday they face a tough task against title-chasing Dulwich Hamlet at Gorings Mead.
