Ramsay hat-trick keeps Rye on course

Scott Ramsay scored a hat-trick as Rye United notched up another victory on Saturday.

Ramsay, pictured, struck twice in the first half and once in the second period to give Rye – who were missing three regular starters in defence - a 3-1 win away to Selsey.

Sussex County Football League Division One title rivals Three Bridges won 2-1 away to Chichester City to remain 11 points behind Rye with five games in hand.

Bexhill United made it 16 points from a possible 18 in Division Two with a 2-1 win at home to Littlehampton Town. Josh Elliott-Noye and Nathan Tudor scored the goals.

Westfield drew 1-1 in a relegation six-pointer at home to Oakwood. After David Pugh had a penalty saved, Sam Willett put Westfield in front only for Oakwood to level.

Little Common dropped below Oakwood into the bottom two after losing 2-1 at home to third-placed Dorking Wanderers. Jake Sherwood was on target for Common.
