Rebels crash at home to Faversham

Worthing Football Club’s home league woes continued on Tuesday evening when they crashed 5-3 to Faversham Town.

The defeat followed a 2-0 home reverse to Whitstable on Saturday and Rebels have now lost five of their six Ryman League Division 1 South home matches.

Rebels boss Lee Brace said: “It was schoolboy defending and was possibly a game too far for the team as it was our sixth in 18 days.

“But that’s not an excuse, we were awful and it’s a shame we haven’t got a game on Saturday to get it out of our system.”

Jamie Brotherton had put Rebels two goals up before Faversham pulled it back to 2-2 at half-time.

Luke Harvey then struck three times in 11 minutes to make the score 5-2 after 61 minutes, although Matt Daniel did pull one back for Worthing.
