The Golds took an early lead when Pearce Fannan struck, but a straight red card for Ross McKay and goals from Jack Funnell and Scott Treleaven ensured it was a disappointing night.

Littlehampton boss Mark Bennett felt the sending off had a significant impact and said: “It was the sending off that cost us in this one.

“I felt the challenge warranted a yellow card but the referee thought otherwise.

“We had to play an hour with ten men and lost out in the end.”

Golds took the lead on five minutes when Fannan slotted home from close range.

McKay was then giving his marching orders, following a foul on Treleaven.

Dan Simmonds should have got a second for Golds but blasted over and Funnell then levelled for Crows on 65 minutes.

Crowborough then bagged a late winner through Treleaven in the first minute of injury-time to knock Golds out.
