First-half goals from Phil Turner, Paul Frangou and Andy Cox as well as a late Lewis Wilkins effort were enough for the Looters to grab all three points.

Sean Williamson made his 100th appearance for the Pirates, who are now just two points off top spot going into the busy Christmas period in their quest for a third consecutive promotion.

Roffey came at the Pirates early on with Warren Pye forced into making an impressive save in the opening minutes, tipping over a close-range header.

The Pirates’ opener came against the run of play when Turner danced his way through the Roffey defence, rounding the goalkeeper and slotting home with ease.

It was soon 2-0 when Frangou smashed home impressively after Cox beat the full-back down the right-hand side.

Nyetimber were unluckily denied a third when Bruce Dumbrell impressively saved Ted Griffin’s low close-range effort.

Cox made it 3-0 just before the break when he beat the left-back again, smashing home into the far corner.

Neither side created many chances in the second half but the game was finally finished off by Wilkins on 85 minutes when he pounced on Turner’s powerful effort, leaving the keeper with no chance.

Predators Res 9 Chapel 1

Division four south

For the second time this season Chapel ran into a goal machine called Michael Woulston.

Having netted five times for The Unicorn against them earlier in the season, he repeated the feat for his new club.

He put Predators 3-0 up in 15 minutes before Ben Plant pulled one back for Chapel. The goals kept coming and by half-time it was 6-1. Woulston came off after an hour and the game became much more even with Chapel pushing forward but unable to convert their chances.

The more Chapel attacked the more the gaps appeared at the back and three late goals for Predators summed up Chapel’s day.
