Rye go back to the top

Rye United have gone back to the top of the Sussex County Football League.

The Quarterboys won 2-1 away to Arundel on Saturday, while previous Division One leaders Pagham lost 3-1 at Hassocks.

Rye led at half time through an own goal and Liam Upton doubled their advantage before Arundel pulled one back late on to set up a nervy finish.

Also in Division One, Sidley United had to settle for a 1-1 draw at home to second-bottom St Francis Rangers despite taking a half time lead through Lewis Hole.

Little Common made it back-to-back wins and clean sheets in Division Two with a 3-0 victory at home to Wick via Dom Bristow, Anthony Cooper and Dom Cruttenden.

Wick had three players sent-off in the space of four minutes during the final quarter and another went off injured after all three substitutes had been made.

Bexhill United recorded successive Division Two wins for the first time since August after Paul Rogers and Grant Payne gave them a 2-0 success at home to Rustington.
