Peacehaven kept their unbeaten run in Sussex going with a 5-0 thumping of Horsham YMCA.
The Tye bounced back from last week’s FA Vase defeat to Bath-based Larkhall Athltic to register their 19th win in 23 matches in Sussex-based competition, with their last defeat in the county still being way back in early September.
Ashley Rees struck a stunning early hat-trick for the county league leaders before Aaron Gunn added another to make it 4-0 inside 22 minutes.
Carl Dunk rounded off the scoring 11 minutes from time, and with title rivals East Preston drawing 2-2 at Redhill it made for a good day all round for Shaun Saunders’ men.
Ringmer were soundly beaten 4-0 at near neigbours Hailsham Town, who scored through Mesach Smith, Danny Leach (2) and Shane Saunders. It was the Stringers’ fifth win in their last five league games at the Beaconsfield.
Newhaven kept up their winning form at the top of Division Two with a 4-2 win at Rustington. The Dockers’ goals came from Lee Robinson, Mark Probert, Dave Altendorff and Jake Forward. The result puts Newhaven nine points clear at the top of the table.
Seaford Town won again with another 2-0 scoreline, this time away to Wick. Their second half goals came via Tom Porter and John Fitzpatrick.
Saltdean United’s game at high-flying Littlehampton Town was postponed.
