The visitors’ James Temple had an early shot deflected over, before Pagham went ahead on 24 minutes. Daren Pearce’s corner was kept alive in the box by Scott Murfin and Jake Hawker headed home.

Lewis Jenkins fired over from Josh Biggs’ cross as Mullets searched for an equaliser and he then went even closer just before half-time when he hit the bar from 20 yards.

Pagham doubled their lead on 61 minutes. Mullets failed to clear a corner and Joe Booker crashed the ball home.

The visitors got their third with eight minutes left when Jo Briggs curled home a free kick from just outside the penalty area, after a foul on Temple.

Arundel manager Brett Torode said: “We had a good 15-minute spell at the end of the first half and played well for the first 15 minutes of the second half, but Pagham thoroughly deserved their win.”

Mullets entertain Hassocks on Saturday and then travel to Lingfield on Tuesday.
