Danny Leach bagged a brace, while Sam Divall and Jamie Salvidge also netted as Hailsham scored four times in the final 20 minutes.

It was a second defeat in just four days for Mussels caretaker boss Matt Brace but he felt his young side gave everything on the night.

He said: “It’s going to be tough for us until the end of the season now. The players that played gave everything but it’s going to be tough.

“It’s a young side that we’ve got, with very little experience.

“These guys have come in and given their best and that’s all you can ask.”

The deadlock was broken on 70 minutes when Leach netted. It got better for third-from-bottom Hailsham three minutes later when Salvidge made it 2-0.
