Sidley positive over cup replay

Sidley United are confident of victory in their FA Cup extra preliminary round replay tonight (Tuesday).

With Gullivers still in the hands of Sidley Cricket Club, the Blues must return to Arundel - where the all-Sussex County Football League Division One tie ended 2-2 on Saturday. Kick-off is 7.45pm.

Sidley manager John Lambert, who will welcome back some of if not all of Kevin Bird, Gavin Bourne, Steve Morris and Terry Payne, said: “We know we can get a result down there. I think we’ve got a great chance.”

Elsewhere tonight, Rye United will seek to continue their unbeaten start in Sussex Division One when they travel to East Grinstead Town.

Rye manager Scott Price is expecting a tough game and plans to change the side around a bit. Matt Maclean will almost certainly start after scoring twice as a substitute in the 2-2 draw at Worthing United on Saturday.

Nathan Russell should return from injury, but Paul Watson is unavailable and Allan McMinigal is likely to be sidelined for a few weeks. Kick-off is 7.30pm.

Little Common will make the short journey to Eastbourne United AFC in Sussex Division Two hoping to build on gaining their first point of the campaign at Loxwood on Saturday. Kick-off is 7.45pm.
