The visitors worked really hard in the first half to live with a lively Rangers side but their resolve was broken on 21 minutes when the impressive Jamie Weston put Rangers 1-0 up.

Oakwood’s efforts were not in vein and they paid off when they drew level 4 minutes later. In seasons gone by Rangers would have struggled in a fixture like this but under Glenn Charker they are a hard side to get the better of and it was no surprise when The outstanding Nathan Milroy put Rangers back in front on 33 minutes with his first of two goals in the match.

The 2nd half saw Rangers lay siege in the Oakwood half and but for some wayward finishing and 2 disallowed goals Rangers would have run out much more convincing winners than 5-1.

Luke Leppard was involved in everything and his efforts really deserved a goal. He went close after a smart turn in the box and then moments later he was dragged down just outside the box.

The resulting free kick saw Rangers Skipper Aaron Walsh head home to make it 3-1 on 55 minutes. Oakwood were really struggling with the movement and slick passing which Lewis Westlake was dictating in the middle of the park. Nathan Milroy thought he had made it 4-1 with a delicate lob only to see it ruled out for push in the build up. If wasn’t long before it was 4-1 when Jamie Weston road a few challenges in the box before smashing the ball home from 12 yards out. Milroy did get his 2nd and Rangers 5th late on with a wonderful strike from the edge of the box into the top corner.
