St Francis Rangers manager Kai Bichard is gearing his players up for what he has called '˜a massive, massive game' against Hailsham Town which could be '˜do or die'.

The Stringers are currently third from bottom and eight points ahead of Bichard’s team. And Bichard sees this game as one that could kick- start their season.

The closest result Rangers have had all season has been a 2-1 loss at home to Hailsham.

Bichard said: “This Saturday coming up is a massive, massive game for the club, for me and the team, it could be a do or die game. It’s a game where I am looking to push on and pick up points.”

Saturday saw Rangers on the wrong end of an 8-1 thumping but for the first time this season they were able to take the lead.

Bichard said: “Against Littlehampton we have done well, taking the lead shows the progress that is happening albeit as small as it is. We have been starting games really well but we have been failing to capitilise on our chances.

“Our first half performances have been pretty decent even though we have gone down by four or five goals at half-time.”

Craig Kelly, Phil Williamson, John Brazil and John Booker are Bichards latest additions to a squad that are very much staring relegation in the face.

Bichard said: “I have signed some more players to strengthen the team, some with experience, some with flare.

“It’s a case now where I have a choice of at least two players per position.”

After Saturday’s trip to Hailsham, Rangers face tricky tests at home to Eastbourne Town and United respectively.

Bichard organised a friendly in midweek organised against Billingshurst where he will be looking at a few more players who have contacted him wanting to join and play for me.
