The win leaves Town in tenth but they are now level on points with ninth-placed Lingfield and trail Langney Wanderers, in eighth, by a point, although, Steyning have played two more games.

It looked as though the game would be scoreless at the interval but Kevin Sharpe had other ideas. He netted just a minute before half-time to fire Steyning in front.

Selsey got themselves back on level terms 13 minutes after the break through Toby Lempriere.

Town were not to be denied, though, and Clark got the winner seven minutes later.
