The FA implemented the new rule in August, which prevents all players from Steps 1-4 betting on any games in the world of football.

Speaking on Gargan’s three-month ban, the FA said: “Following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing, Whitehawk’s Sam Gargan has been suspended from all football activity, with immediate effect, for three months.

“He will also be fined £300 after he admitted multiple breaches of FA Rule E8 in relation to betting.”
