The goal rush continues for Broadbridge Heath with defeat to Little Common

Goals have been virtually guaranteed watching Broadbridge Heath in recent weeks.

There was another seven in their home match with Little Common, but the number which really mattered, three, went to the visitors as they took all the points.

Saturday’s 4-3 loss meant 25 goals have been scored in Heath’s last three matches alone, 12 for and 13 against.

Little Common are still chasing for promotion and a good start saw them nearly go ahead when Steve Morris just shot wide. Heath began to get the upper hand, Jake Holmes and Tim Martin with shots from distance, though Heath keeper James Fisher made a good save to keep out Lewis Hole.

Heath took the lead through Dan Attwater’s penalty after Holmes had been fouled, but afterwards spurned chances and Morris equalised for the visitors, heading home in first half stoppage time.

Fisher twice denied Common the lead before sub Andy Waddingham released Martin to again put Heath ahead. Dominic Cruttenden superbly levelled from 25 yards, Hole then lobbed in before Cruttenden added Common’s fourth.

Holmes guided in Martin’s free kick to pull one back and Abs Bolaji headed against the bar late on.

Team: Fisher, Chester, Etherington, Attwater (Swaine 65), Flack, Sultan, Woods, Miller (Waddingham 53), Holmes, Martin, Bolaji.
