First up were Basildon and a trialist gave Bridges a 17th minute lead. That was cancelled out after 33 minutes but Tom Tolfrey gave Bridges a half time advantage when he scored a minute before the break.

A lot of changes led to Basildon equalising again a minute after the restart and it was the visitors who clinched a 3-2 victory midway through the second half.

Corinthian Casuals of the Isthmian Premier arrived on Friday evening and proved tough opponents. But Bridges held out until the 70th minute and conceded again five minutes from time to lose 0-2.

Both games had to be played behind closed doors and this trend continues on Tuesday (18th) night with the visit of another Isthmian Premier outfit in Horsham. And on Saturday (22nd) spectators are still not allowed when Tooting and Mitcham United come to the Jubilee Field.

At Bridges AGM last week, Paul Faili was re-elected as chairman with Tom Hayward now his vice-chairman. Chris Irving remains as Treasurer while, following the retirement of Lorraine Bonner, Richard Munn - already in charge of the kit - is now the new Club Secretary. His wife Joanne is the Commercial Manager.
