It is the first time since the 2008 season that Littlehampton have recorded three successive wins as they remain fourth in the table.

Littlehampton won the toss and chose to bowl, although the visitors began brightly with a 71-run opening stand.

However, Littlehampton soon took control after they dismissed Ram opening batsman Bunty Suthar for 46.

Ram lost five wickets for just nine runs as their batsmen from number three to six managed just three runs between them, and they slipped to 74-5.

The visitors were then reduced to 139-8 when Nikesh Patel was out for 31.

However, 33 from Darpan Amin and 31 not out from Joshua Prentice boosted their total as they were all out for 209 in 47.4 overs.

Ryan Budd was the pick of the Littlehampton bowlers as he finished with figures of 4-62 from 15 overs. Amjad Mohsin also had a good afternoon with the ball as he took 3-28.

The hosts lost opening batsmen Tom Lee and Michael Askew early in their reply as they were reduced to 4-2.

Ally James hit a fine 69 as he got Littlehampton’s chase back on track and he was well supported by Chris Heberlein, who struck 38.

Moshin followed up his three wickets with 22 and it was left to captain Dan Rive to hit the winning runs as they reached their target after 41.4 overs.

Littlehampton skipper Rive said: “The first innings really ebbed and flowed.

“They got off to a strong start and were 70-odd for no wicket but then we had them 80-6.

“However, they then fought back and their tail wagged.

“We made a bad start with the bat but once we got the scoreboard ticking over, we were always above the run-rate and it was a good win.”

Littlehampton are now just a point behind third-placed Ram and Rive said: “We are just looking to win as many games as we can.

“There are no specific targets that have been set by the team.

“At the beginning of the year, we were looking at a top-three finish but we will see what our points tally is come the end of the year.”

Littlehampton travel to second-placed Southwater on Saturday.
