Bognor backer George Mitchell has urged businesses to get behind the Rocks as the club gear up for the annual sponsors’ draw.

Mitchell was speaking after unveiling yet another colourful upgrade to the Nye Camp in the shape of a slick wrap around the programme kiosk which advertises his flourishing travel company.

It's the latest sponsorship activity from his firm, Mitchell's Travel, after they became the Rocks' official travel partner and also struck a deal to sponsor the club's media team.

The move comes as the Bognor Crowdfunder appeal edges towards an incredible amount of £47,000 with two days of the donation window remaining. The money raised will help replace matchday revenue lost through the Covid-19 pandemic and also help towards the transformation taking place at the ground.

The famous old main stand has been demolished, with a state-of-the-art complex replacing it in August; a new toilet block is set to be installed and new floodlights and a PA system have already been added.

And Mitchell said: "The club are working wonders with the upgrade to the ground and we wanted to once again show our support for this club and all that it represents in our community. Like football, the travel industry has suffered through the coronavirus crisis and we see this is an opportunity to stand firm with the club. We look forward to the news season when it comes.

"We have also entered the sponsors' draw and are now in with a chance to see our names on the team shirts. I’d very much say that businesses looking to raise their profile in theses challenging times should consider getting involved with the club."

On the pitch, manager Jack Pearce and coach Robbie Blake are working to assemble a squad they believe will challenge in the Isthmian premier division when the action starts in either September or October. And with the tremendous backing from supporters and businesses through the fundraising efforts, the club will start the campaign on a solid footing.

General manager Simon Cook said: "The generosity of those who have donated is quite unbelievable and everyone at the club is in awe of the kindness shown to raise what is a significant amount of money. And, of course, we offer a big thanks to Mitchell’s Travel for their continued support.”
