Trusty Steed wins the plaudits as ladies end tough season

Chichester Ladies' reserves had an extremely tough season, playing many first teams in a new league after promotion.

They worked hard to pick up points and ensured they finished above county rivals Crawley.

Captain Rebecca Steed has been named player of the year for the South East Counties Women’s Premier League.

She has never given up and has given 100 per cent from start to finish in every game.

The team and manager Caz Henry-Evans are very proud of her and believe she fully deserves this award. Steed said: “I am really proud to be receiving this award from the league – it is a great honour to be recognised in this way.

“This was my second season as captain of Chichester ladies reserves, a role which I absolutely love. It was a tough season following promotion last year and credit must also go to Caz, our manager, and all the players who played with me week in week out as it was a real team effort.”

The team came fourth in the sportsmanship league, another great achievement for the team.

Now the team are looking forward to the new season. If you are interested in joining Chichester Ladies ring Caz Henry-Evans on 07868 324322 or Matt Wright on 07534 996578.
