Wick, who are eighth in the table, have played just one match since Boxing Day – a 1-0 win at home to AFC Uckfield on January 11 – and Tucker admits all the recent postponements have been a nightmare.

He said: “It’s been a nightmare with the weather recently but it’s been the same for everyone.

“We’ve had only three home games since the beginning of November, so haven’t had any revenue coming in to the club.

Arundel have had massive problems as well and something needs to be done about it to help clubs out.

“Playing more games at the beginning of the season could help teams out but it’s something that needs to be looked at.

“Most clubs will end up playing every Saturday and midweek now, while the likes of East Preston and Eastbourne United could end up with three games a week, which just ruins the football then.”

Tucker is looking for a top five finish when his side do get back into action but they will be without Kieron Playle-Howard, who has joined division-higher Pagham

Ash Harper also recently dual-signed with Worthing but will be playing for Wick to get some more minutes and goals under his belt.

Tucker said: “The top five is what we’ll be looking for. We’ve heard rumours that more clubs might be promoted from Division 2 into Division 1 this summer, so we’ll try to finish as high as possible.

“Getting into the top five will be difficult but we’re on a bit of a run at the moment, even though we haven’t played for a while.

“Losing Kieron is a massive blow but fair play to him, he 100 per cent deserves to be playing in Division 1. He’s got a bright future in the game and we wish him all the best.”

Wick, who are unbeaten in four league games, are due to travel to Seaford on Saturday.
