Uckers suffer a heavy seven-goal defeat at Lancing but Town win

AFC Uckfield went down to a heavy 7-1 defeat away to Lancing on Saturday.

Darren Boswell gave the hosts the perfect start, scoring twice inside 13 minutes to put Lancing two up. A goal for Jamie Strong on 28 minutes was followed 10 minutes later by Uckers’ only success, a George Callingham strike.

But another Lancing goal, this time from Richard Hudson on 42, made the score 4-1 at half time. Two goals in as many minutes midway through the second half – from Dan Turner and Shaz Sadough – killed off any AFC hopes, before a Sadough strike in added time rounded it off.

Uckfield Town put on a fine performance to win 3-2 away to league leaders Barnham in the Division 3 cup. Town raced into a 3-0 lead thanks to Andy Macintosh (8) and Steve Davies (14 and 17), before Barnham hit back via Spencer Newman (36) and Joss Parsons (52).
