The U’s will climb into Ryman Football League Division One South’s top five if they win away to East Grinstead Town. Kick-off is 7.30pm.

But the wet weather forecast for this afternoon could well place the game in doubt. News of any planned pitch inspections will appear here later.

United are up to seventh in the table - two points outside the play-off spots - and they still have between two and five games in hand on every other club.

They are now top of the division’s form table having won five of their last six matches, the latest of which was an impressive 2-0 victory at home to Guernsey on Saturday.

That sequence also included a 5-2 success at home to 20th-placed Grinstead on January 12. By contrast, Grinstead are second-bottom of the form table having lost five of their last six outings.

* United are running a coach to tonight’s match, departing The Pilot Field at 4.30pm. The cost is £12 for adults, with a £2 discount for supporters’ club members, and £5 for under-18s. Call Dave Russell on 07970 332270 or email [email protected] to save a place.
