United hoping to keep key striker

Ade Olorunda could be playing against Hastings United on Monday it he opts to rejoin Tonbridge Angels.

The U’s main striker is the subject of a seven-day letter from the Kent club who are due to visit The Pilot Field in a crucial Ryman Premier clash.

Jason Hopkinson, who takes charge of the team for the first time after succeeding Tony Dolby as manager, said: “All we can do is wait, the decision is up to him. We’ve made it clear we want to keep him.

“When I spoke to Ade he did seem down and a bit disillusioned with how things have been going but hopefully he will put that behind him and give me a chance and the club that loves him another chance.”

Olorunda, who spent an injury-hit season with Angels before returning to Hastings for a third spell in July 2009, has been away for the past week and Hopkinson is due to talk to the player on Friday.
