The match is likely to provide Ryman League Division One South side United with a stern test because Borough play their football two levels further up the non-league pyramid in Blue Square Bet South. Kick-off at The Pilot Field is 7.45pm, and admission is £5 for adults and free for under-21s.

After successive defeats against a Brighton & Hove Albion under-21/development centre squad and Sussex County League neighbours Westfield, United achieved their first pre-season victory at the third time of asking by beating Thamesmead Town 2-1 on Saturday.

United took just six minutes to open the scoring as Sam Adams converted the rebound after the goalkeeper parried. Kenny Pogue doubled United’s lead shortly after the half-hour mark with a deflected strike from outside the box.

A Thamesmead side which won promotion from Ryman Division One North last term pulled one back with the final kick of a more even second half in which United goalkeeper Josh Pelling made a couple of good saves.

Elsewhere this evening, Sussex Division Two side Westfield will host Division One outfit Rye United in another pre-season friendly fixture. Kick-off at The Parish Field is 7pm.
