United itching for return to form

Hastings United will be desperate to rediscover some form when they travel to Concord Rangers tonight (Tuesday).

The U’s have slipped to 14th in the Premier Division of the Ryman Football League having failed to win any of their last eight league matches.

League newcomers Concord, who are based in Canvey Island, are three places and five points better off with a game in hand.

United will have painful memories of the first meeting between the two teams back in September when Sean Ray was stretchered off and Clark Masters sent-off in a 3-0 defeat.

Elsewhere tonight, Sidley United will be bidding for a place in the quarter-finals of the Sussex RUR Charity Cup when they entertain Rustington.

In-form Sidley are up to 11th in Division One of the Sussex County League on the back of last weekend’s marvellous 3-1 win at home to Hassocks, while Rustington are ninth in Division Two.

Sean Kelly is set to return for Sidley having completed a three-match ban. Kick-off at Gullivers is 7.45pm.
